• Apply through the embassy
Applying through the embassy is a standard procedure. You can approach the Embassy of Vietnam in Venezuela where the officials will take you through a detailed step-by-step procedure for submission of application form, relevant documents and payment of the mandatory fees. The Embassy of Vietnam in Venezuela is located in:
6ta Avenida entre 8va y 9na Transversal, Quinta El Cigarral, Altamira, Chacao 1060-025 D.F, Caracas, Venezuela
Telephone: (+58) 212-6358402
embavive@yahoo.com.vn; caracas@mofa.gov.vn
You will have to hold a valid and original Venezuelan passport in order to obtain the Visa. You will have to submit this passport along with a duly filled application form, a recent passport size photo and a self-addressed envelope. The embassy will require at least five working days to process all your documents and send you the Visa. Once you have received the Visa, you can easily travel to Vietnam.
However, there are certain drawbacks to this procedure. If you are not residing in an area near the Embassy location, you will have to undertake a lot of travelling because this procedure requires you to make multiple trips. Also, there are the chances of losing your valuable documents because your passport will be forwarded ahead via postal mail. If you wish to have an easier and more affordable choice, the Visa on Arrival procedure is the best option.
• Apply for Visa on Arrival
In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent in Vietnam. You will be required to fill an online application form and enter details such as the date of your arrival, date of departure, name, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. Once the online form is processed, you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval can then be submitted at the Visa on Arrival counter at the airport you arrive in to collect the Visa. Along with the letter of approval you will be required to pay Visa stamping fees.
While picking your purpose of stay in Vietnam, you can choose from three options- business, tourist and transit. Business Visa offers a validity of one month, three month and six months. Tourist Visa offers you validity of one month and transit Visa offers you validity of less than five days.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is extended only to those who arrive in Vietnam by air. Those who take land routes cannot avail of this facility and will have to carry the Visa and passport along with them during their travel. If you are travelling to Vietnam in a cruise ship, you can get in touch with the cruise ship authorities for information on Visa on Arrival. The Visa on Arrival procedure is much faster and more affordable.
