Ways to get visa
There are two ways a citizen can get a Vietnam visa. The most traditional way is to get visa from the consulate and the most modern technique is visa on arrival.
Visa from Embassy
Getting a visa form the Vietnam embassy is the most traditional way of getting a visa. Unfortunately there is no Vietnam embassy in Swaziland till date. This is the reason why people need to visit the nearest Vietnam embassy in their neighboring countries for the visa. The nearest Vietnam from Swaziland is the Vietnam embassy of Mozambique. The citizens of Swaziland can either apply for a Vietnam visa in the Vietnam embassy at Mozambique or get it through visa on arrival procedure through the Vietnam Immigration Department.
In such cases if it not possible for you to visit the Vietnam embassy in person you can also apply for a Vietnam visa via post. However, you need to contact the embassy and confirm if they allows obtaining a Vietnam visa by post.
Visa on arrival
As there is no Vietnam embassy in Swaziland, the Vietnam Immigration Department has taken a new initiative since 2003 to offer visa to the Swaziland citizens. This procedure is termed as visa on arrival or Vietnam evisa. You can apply for a visa online in this case.
This is the easiest and the fastest way of getting Vietnam visa. There are numerous websites through which you can apply for a visa online. You need to fill in the application form online and pay the service fee. The application will be sent to the Immigration Officers and you will receive the confirmation within 2 business days via mail. If you are in a hurry you can also request for a visa within 8 or 4 or 2 hours. This is the best way for those who do not wish to send away their passport over post. You must also remember that this process is only applicable for those who wish to travel to Vietnam by air.
You must also keep a few important things handy to receive your visa on arriving to the Vietnam airport. The most important documents needed are- a copy of your visa approval letter, 2 recent passport size photos, your valid passport and some US dollars to pay the visa processing fee.
