The procedure of applying for Visa through the Embassy of Vietnam in The Netherlands is quite simple. You will have to get in touch with the embassy officials who will guide you through a step-by-step procedure on filling up the required forms, payment of mandatory fees and submission of relevant documents. You will be asked to fill up a form and submit documents such as your original passport, one recent passport sized photograph and a self-addressed envelope. These documents will then be submitted for processing. You will also be required to pay the Visa fees in favor of the Embassy of Vietnam. This can be done by way of money order or cashier’s cheque.
One major benefit of submitting the documents through the embassy is that you will have a fully stamped Visa in your hand before you depart for Vietnam. However, there are certain drawbacks to this system. You will find this system highly inconvenient if you reside in a location which is far away from the embassy location, as this procedure will require to personally visit the embassy several times before the process is complete. Also, your documents will have to be forwarded ahead by postal mail, which means that you could lose your documents if they are misplaced. Moreover, this is a time consuming process and won’t be helpful if your requirement is urgent. If you want a quicker and more convenient procedure, you should apply for Visa on Arrival.
• Apply for Visa on Arrival
Visa on Arrival is a far more convenient procedure. In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill up an online application, where you will be asked to fill in details such as your name, occupation, travel dates, purpose of visit etc. Under the purpose of visit tab, you can choose from options such as business, tourist and transit. The business Visa comes with a validity of one month, three months and six months. Tourist Visa comes with a validity of one month and transit Visa comes with a validity of less than five days. You will also have to pay the Visa fees and the service charge of the travel agent. This amount can easily be transferred online.
Once your application form is processed, you will be issued a letter of approval. Your travel agent can collect this letter of approval. On reaching Vietnam, you can submit this letter of approval at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in along with the Visa stamping fees to collect your Visa.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is extended only to those travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air.
