The procedure while applying through the embassy is quite simple. You will have to fill in a form with all your details. In order to apply for Visa, you are required to hold a valid and original Visa with at least six months validity and few spare pages for stamping. You are required to fill up the form and submit your passport along with a recent passport sized photograph and a self-addressed envelope. Once these documents are processed, you will be issued the Visa.
This procedure is much of a hassle for Nepalese citizens as they will have to travel all the way from Nepal to India to apply for Vietnam Visa. The easier and quicker option to this is the Visa on Arrival procedure. Through the Visa on Arrival procedure, you can easily apply for Visa without having to spend a lot of time on travelling and save a good amount of money too! The Visa on Arrival procedure is easier and more affordable.
• Apply for Visa on Arrival
In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a reliable travel agent in Vietnam. You are required to fill up an online application with details such as your name, occupation, duration of stay, dates of arrival and departure, purpose of visit etc. Once you have filled the form, it will be submitted for processing. On processing, you will receive a letter of approval. This letter of approval can be collected by your travel agent and forwarded to you. On reaching Vietnam, you can submit this letter of approval along with the Visa stamping fees at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport to collect your Visa.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is available to only those who arrive in Vietnam by air. For those who take the land route, it is mandatory that they obtain the Visa beforehand and carry it along with them before travelling. If you are travelling in a cruise ship, you can contact the cruise authorities for information on Visa on Arrival. The absence of necessary documents can lead to denial of entry and even immediate deportation.
