At the embassy you will be taken through a step by step procedure on Visa application. You will be required to fill the Visa application form and submit one recent passport sized photograph, one self-addressed envelope and your original passport along with the form. In addition, you will have to pay the Visa fees. This fees can be paid in favor of the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s check.
The embassy will take at least five working days to process your documents. After the documents are processed, you will be issued a fully stamped Visa. The biggest benefit of applying for Visa through the embassy is that you will have the Visa in your hands before your departure to Vietnam. However, this process is too time consuming and expensive.
You can also get in touch with the embassy officials to know if the process can be facilitated through postal mail. However, if you decide to apply for Visa through correspondence, you will have to send in all your documents through postal mail, which means you stand to lose your valuable documents such as your original passport if your package is misplaced or lost in transit.
