This procedure will require you to visit the embassy a few times to submit your forms and documents, collect the Visa etc. Through this procedure, you will have a fully stamped Visa with you prior to boarding your flight to Vietnam. This procedure is easy for those residing in New Delhi or nearby areas. However, if you reside in a state which is situated quite far from New Delhi, you can opt for the online Visa application procedure to avail of the Visa on Arrival facility.
2. Apply online for Visa on Arrival
The online application process is quite simple and easy to follow. You will have to apply for a Visa on Arrival through a travel agent, get in touch with an agent in Vietnam to pick up your approval letter. This approval letter is to be then submitted at the Visa on Arrival counter at the Vietnam airport to pick up your Visa. The Visa on Arrival holds the same value and limitations that a fully stamped Visa collected from the embassy or consulate will entitle you to. In order to avail of the Visa on Arrival facility, you will have to first state your purpose of visit. Visa on Arrival is issued as:
- Vietnam visa for business purpose: This Visa offers you a validity of one month, three months and six months, depending on your requirement.
- Vietnam Visa for tourist purpose: This will have a validity of one month only
- Vietnam Visa for transit purpose: This will have a validity of less than five days and upon expiry, the passenger will have to move to a third country. For availing a transit visa, the individual must be travelling in a group and on tour.
To apply for online Visa on Arrival website, you will have to get in touch with a reputed travel agent. You will have to submit your personal details such as name, purpose of visit, occupation, duration of stay etc. on the agent’s website and wait for the Visa to arrive in your e-mail ID. Earlier, an Indian passport was not required for applying for Vietnam Visa on Arrival scheme. However, of late, the regulations have been made a little more stringent for Indians in the light of a few unpleasant incidents. According to the latest regulations, an individual will have to submit a latest copy of his valid Indian passport and return tickets of an airline to collect the Visa on Arrival. Along with this, the individual will be required to carry two photographs, the approval form and an entry and exit form.
As per rules, all travellers will have to submit Visa stamping fees along with the letter of approval to collect their Visa. It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is offered only to those travellers who arrive in Vietnam by air.
