The embassy will take at least five working days to process your documents. Once your documents are processed, you will be issued a fully stamped Visa. Although this process allows you to get hold of a fully stamped Visa before you leave for Vietnam, it is expensive and time consuming.
In case you wish to apply for Visa through correspondence, you will have to send across all your documents through postal mail. In this case, you risk losing your original passport if your package is lost in transit or if it is misplaced.
• Apply for Visa on Arrival
Visa on Arrival is the ideal way in which a Bolivian citizen can apply for Visa because it is easier and more convenient. To apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill an online application form which will require details such your name, occupation, duration of stay, purpose of visit etc. When filling up the purpose of visit, you will have to choose from options such as business, tourist and transit. A business Visa comes with a validity of one month, three months and six months. A tourist Visa comes with a validity of one month and a transit Visa offers a validity of less than five days.
Your online application will be processed in a couple of days, after which you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval can be collected by your travel agent and have it forwarded to you. On reaching Vietnam, you will have to submit this document along with the Visa stamping fees at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival is available only to those travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air. For those taking land routes, it is mandatory that they carry their documents with them while traveling. In case of a cruise ship, the cruise authorities can be contacted for more information on Visa on Arrival.
