You can contact the embassy officials who will take you through a step by step procedure. You will be required to fill up the necessary forms and submit required documents in order to obtain the Visa. Along with the documents, you will also have to pay the Visa fees. These fees can be paid to the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque.
The benefit of applying through the Embassy is that you will have a fully stamped Visa with you before you depart for Vietnam. Also, this Visa will be valid if you take a sea or land route to Vietnam. However, there are certain drawbacks too. If you reside in an area which is situated far away from the Embassy location, you will have to travel back and forth to the embassy location several times as this approach requires you to visit the embassy multiple times before the procedure is complete. Also, you will be required to submit your original passport at the Embassy, which will be forwarded ahead via postal mail for processing. Also, this is a time taking procedure. If you wish to get a quick and easy solution to Visa application, the Visa on Arrival procedure is the best way for you.
• Apply for Visa on Arrival
Visa on Arrival is a convenient procedure which allows you to fill in your Visa application from any location. You will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam for Visa on Arrival procedure. You will be required to fill up an online application form for Visa to Vietnam on the travel agent’s website. You will also have to pay a certain amount as Visa fees and service charges of the agent. The amount can be transferred to the agent’s account by online transfer. Once this is done, your form will be submitted for processing. Your form will be processed and you will receive a letter of approval in a couple of days. The letter of approval can be collected by your travel agent on your behalf and passed on to you. You will have to carry this letter of approval along with your passport while travelling to Vietnam.
On reaching Vietnam, you can submit this letter of approval along with the Visa stamping fees at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in. It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is extended only to those travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air. For those taking land routes, it is mandatory that they carry the Visa and all other necessary documents along with them while traveling. If you are traveling on a cruise ship, you can check with the cruise authorities for information on Visa on Arrival.
