• Apply through the Embassy
One of the simplest methods through which an individual can apply for Visa through the Embassy of Vietnam. All you need to do is fill in the application from the Embassy of Vietnam. The Embassy of Vietnam in Malaysia is located in:
No.4, Persiaran Stonor 50450, Kualar Lumpur, Malaysia
Telephone: +603-2148 403

The application process through the embassy is quite simple and easy. All you need to do is fill up a form with all your personal details, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. Once the details are filled, your passport will be submitted along with other documents. The embassy will take about five days to process all your documents. Once the documents are processed, you will be issued the Visa in the self-addressed envelope you have filled.
Although the biggest advantage is that you will get the Visa before you depart for Vietnam, there are a number of disadvantages. If you are residing in an area that is away from the embassy, you will have to travel back and forth from the embassy. This requires quite a lot of time and energy. Also, you will have to send in your passport through postal mail, which poses the threat of misplacement. If you do not wish to apply through the embassy, you can apply for Visa on Arrival.
• Apply for Visa for Arrival
Visa on Arrival is an easy and convenient process through which you can easily apply for Visa. For Arrival. you can get in touch with a travel agent in Vietnam to get your online form filled. Once the form is filled up, you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval can be collected by a travel agent and forwarded to you. This letter of approval is to be submitted at the Visa on Arrival at the airport you will arrive in to collect your Visa.
Along with other documents, you are required to submit the Visa stamping fees to get the Visa. While filling up the form, online or otherwise, you are required to pay the Visa fees. The Visa fees can be paid to the Embassy of Vietnam by money order or Cashier’s Cheque.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is extended to only those who arrive in Malaysia by air. For those who arrive in Malaysia by land, it is mandatory that they carry their Visa along with their passport while travelling. If you are travelling in a cruise ship, you can get in touch with the cruise ship authorities to know more about the Visa on Arrival.
