There are many online sites available for applying visa on arrival to Vietnam. These sites provide online application forms. One just needs to fill up the form correctly, pay the service charge via credit card or internet banking. One generally has to wait for 2 business days, but if the requirement is urgent, one can avail the express services. In that case, the approval letter may reach within 8, 4 or 2 business hours, as per the requirement of the client. The next important step is to collect the actual visa from the Vietnam International Airport. The documents needed for collection are:
• Copy of approval letter.
• Valid Passport
• 2 passport size pictures.
• A few US dollars to pay for the stamping.
Things to remember
The second method i.e. Vietnam visa on arrival is only applicable to the people having a Comoros passport and travelling by air. If one plans to visit Vietnam by some other transport, then one needs to collect the visa directly from the Vietnam Embassy. In such cases, make sure that the passport is valid for minimum of 6 months. This way of getting a Vietnam visa is not much preferred due to its long processing time and it is also not cost effective either.
It is to be duly noted that the approval letter received after applying for visa online, is not the actual visa. The actual visa is to be collected on arrival at the Vietnam airport; where one has to give this approval letter and get the visa in return.
