Where to apply for a Vietnam visa for citizens of Puerto Rico?
Currently there is no Embassy of Vietnam in Puerto Rico, so visitors planning to come to Vietnam can only opt for an ‘on arrival visa’, this is provided to them on arrival at the airport at Vietnam.
Applying for Vietnam visa from Puerto Rico:
If you are a citizen of Puerto Rico holding an normal Puerto Rican passport, then the procedure for applying a visa for Vietnam can be a little complicated and the visa application fee can also be a little higher than other countries.
As for fee requirements for applying for a Vietnam visa for citizens of Puerto Rico, two types of fees are payable to the Immigration Department of Vietnam. A ‘visa approval fee’ and a ‘visa stamping fee’, the visa approval fee is paid to the Vietnamese Immigration for acquiring the visa application form for Puerto Rican citizens. This fee is usually paid to the agent who represents the Puerto Rican citizens and requests to send the visa approval letter for them. A Puerto Rican citizen can pay this fee in any way, either using a credit/debit card, Bank transfer, Pay pal or even use Western Union money transfer. A noteworthy point to be mentioned here is that, one must understand that the ‘visa approval fee’ should be paid to the agent prior to the issuance of the visa approval letter.
The ‘visa stamping fee’ should be paid at the airport at Vietnam, at the time when an applicant(s) get their visa stamped. Now this fee amount remains the same for citizens of all nationalities. In order to stamp the visa for foreigners traveling to Vietnam, the Immigration officer at Vietnam will ask for your passport and the visa approval letter.
You can also choose to apply for visa online and complete the whole procedure through the internet for a more convenient and faster visa processing. You will receive the visa approval letter from the Immigration Department of Vietnam and all you need to do is stick the printed letter at the back of your passport when getting on board.
