1) Citizens who hold a Turkish diplomatic or official passport are exempted from the hassle of obtaining a visa. This is applicable only if your trip to Vietnam does not exceed 90 days. Going beyond 90 days, you will need a valid visa.
2) Citizens who are spouses or children of Vietnamese citizens and Turkey based Vietnamese can also avail an exemption provided they submit all the necessary documents. A successful documentation can get a visa exemption of up to 5 years.
3) Children who are under 14 years of age and share their passport with either of the parent are exempted from obtaining a separate visa.
4) Travelers on their way to Phu Quoc islands in Vietnam are also exempted from obtaining a Visa provided the stay is for not more than 30 days. If the traveler wishes to go beyond the island, or stay for more than 30 days then he will need to obtain a visa.
These are just some of the exemptions given by the Vietnamese authority. Before planning your trip, it is advisable to ensure whether you qualify for any exemption or not. You may approach the embassy to get complete details on exemptions.
Ways to obtain a Visa:
Turkish citizens have two major ways of obtaining a Visa for Vietnam. The first is to get a valid visa by the Vietnamese embassy. Second is obtaining a VOA through Vietnamese Immigration department via online agents like us.
Visa through the Embassy:
Turkish citizens have the advantage of having a Vietnamese Embassy in their own nation (located in Ankara) that can issue them visas directly. The process requires you to submit a duly filled form to the embassy. You will also need to submit a color photo and your original passport that is valid. All these need to be handed over to the embassy along with the processing fee. A successful application is processed for a visa in 3 to 5 working days.
Visa on Arrival (VOA):
This visa is issued by the Immigration department of Vietnam to the travelers entering into Vietnam through airports. Hence, this is applicable only for people who are taking an air trip to Vietnam. The process is simple and quick. There is next to no paper work involved and is much more reasonable. Therefore, for air travelers, a VOA is the best option available. For other modes of journey, an embassy visa will serve the purpose.
