Since Ghana does not have an embassy of Vietnam, you will have to check with the embassies in neighbouring countries. To apply for Visa on Arrival, you can get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill an online application form and key in all details such as your name, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. Along with the online application form you will be required to pay the Visa fees which can be transferred to the travel agents online. Once the form is filled up, it will have to be submitted for processing. After the form is processed, you will be issued a letter of approval by the Vietnamese Immigration department. This letter of approval can be collected by your travel agent and forwarded to you.
You can travel with this letter of approval. On reaching Vietnam, you will have to submit this letter of approval at the Visa on Arrival counter at the airport along with the Visa stamping fees to collect your Visa. It is important that you fill up the application form correctly and ensure that all information entered is accurate. Any lack of necessary documents or discrepancy in information can lead to denial in entry into Vietnam or even immediate deportation.
There are a few things that you will have to keep in mind while filling up the online application. Ensure that your passport has at least six months validity beyond your date of departure in Vietnam. Also, it should have a few spare pages for stamping purposes.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is applicable to only those who travel to Vietnam via air routes. If you are planning to take a land route to Vietnam, you will have to first get in touch with an embassy in a neighbouring to get your Visa prior to travelling. Those taking land routes are required to carry all documents with them.
