Before applying for a visa, get a complete understanding of the exemption criteria. The general procedure for application of a visa is usually through an embassy that officially processes any type of visa. The second is through agents like us who process VOAs for the aspiring travelers.
Applying Visa through an embassy:
Vietnam has well developed diplomatic relations with more than 170 countries throughout the world. In addition, it also has an established embassy in around 70 countries. However, at present, Congo does not have a Vietnam embassy and hence for the people here, applying for a visa is a little twisted.
Since Congo does not have its own Vietnam embassy, the citizens here have to apply for a visa through embassies located in the neighboring nations. The process calls for downloading the application form from the selected embassy’s website and filling it up. Affix a photo to this form and send it via post to the embassy along with your original passport and processing fee. Make sure before sending out your documents you enquire about the process that the embassy follows and the time it will take for you to get your visa.
Getting a VOA:
Since, getting an embassy visa is tedious; a better option would be to go for a VOA (Visa on Arrival). This type of visa is only applicable for air trips. Hence, if you are flying all the way to Vietnam then you can opt for VOA that is quicker, simpler, and more economical. For other modes of journey i.e. roads and waterways, you need to have an embassy visa.
