Besides submitting these documents, you will have to submit the Visa fees. You can pay these fees in favor of the embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque. The embassy will require at least five working days to process all your documents. Once all documents are processed, you will be issued a fully stamped Visa. Usually, the Visa issued by the embassy is for single entry. If you want a multiple entry Visa, you will have to mention it in your form and pay the fees for the same.
One of the advantage of applying for Visa through the embassy is that you get a fully stamped Visa in your hands before leaving for Vietnam. However, there are certain drawbacks to this system. You will have to visit the embassy several times, which can be a hassle if you live in an area which is far away from the embassy location. Also, you will have to submit your documents by postal mail, which means there are high chances of loss of documents.
The Visa on Arrival is an ideal choice for those who want a hassle free Visa application process. You can easily apply for Visa on Arrival by getting in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill up an online application form with your details such as name, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. While filling up the purpose of visit section, you will have to choose from business, tourist and transit. A business Visa will get you validity of one month, three months and six months. The tourist Visa comes with a validity of one month and transit Visa comes with a validity of less than five days.
Your online form will be processed in a couple of days, after which you will be issued a letter of approval. This letter of approval will have to be submitted at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in. Along with this letter you will have to submit the Visa stamping fees.
It is to be noted that the Visa on Arrival facility is available only to those travelers who arrive in Vietnam by air.
