How to obtain a visa for visiting Vietnam for a citizen of Puerto Rico?
If you are an ordinary passport holder of Puerto Rico, then according to the temporary Immigration Law of Vietnam, visa exempt entry is not applicable for you, unless you are married to a citizen of Vietnam or a passport holder of Vietnam.
How to apply for visa for Vietnam in Puerto Rico:
Currently there is no Embassy of Vietnam in Puerto Rico. Hence, foreigners coming to Vietnam will have to apply for a visa for Vietnam ‘on arrival’ i.e. at the airport after you land in Vietnam.
For those who hold a Puerto Rican Passport: the procedure for people holding a Puerto Rican passport is slightly more complicated for applying for a visa and the visa processing fee is also higher in comparison to several other countries. To be provided with a visa, a Puerto Rican citizen is required to be guaranteed by an agent in Vietnam.
The fee for getting a Vietnam visa for citizens of Puerto Rico can be categorized into two categories based on the current Immigration Law of Vietnam. All Puerto Rican citizens are required to pay two types of fee for getting a Vietnam visa, one is a visa approval fee and the other one is visa stamping fee.
As for those who are simply residing in Puerto Rico and are not Puerto Rican citizens, can simply apply for visa online. Each and every procedure can be easily completed online, and you will receive the visa approval letter online as well from the Immigration Department of Vietnam. Now you can stick the printed approval letter on your passport to get on board and arrive at Vietnam and then get it stamped at the airport.
