If you decide to travel to a neighboring country, you will have to bear the expenses on travel and stay. At the embassy, you will have to fill up the Visa application form. The form is to be filled in English. You will also have to mention the place of collection and submission of Visa as Vietnam. Along with the filled up form, you will have to submit one recent passport size photograph, one self-addressed envelope and your original passport. It is to be noted that your passport should have a validity of at least six months from the date of your departure from Vietnam and a few pages blank for stamping purposes.
Besides submitting these documents, you will also have to pay the Visa fees. You can pay these fees in favor of the Embassy of Vietnam by way of cashier’s check or money order. Once all documents are submitted and the fees are paid, the form will be sent forward for further processing.
The embassy will take at least five working days to process all your documents. After your documents are processed, you will be issued a fully stamped Visa. Although this procedure allows you to get hold of a fully stamped Visa before your departure to Vietnam, it is quite expensive and time consuming.
In case you decide to apply for Visa through correspondence, you will have to submit all your documents to the embassy by postal mail. This is highly risky as you stand to lose your documents if your package is misplaced or lost in transit mail.
The easier alternative for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan is the Visa on Arrival facility. In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you will have to get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill an online application with details such as your name, address, occupation, purpose of visit, duration of stay etc. Once you have filled the form, it will be submitted for processing. You can pay the Visa fees and the travel agent’s service charges online.
Online application forms are usually processed in two or three days. Post this, you will be issued a letter of approval, which can be collected by your travel agent and he can forward it to you. On reaching Vietnam, you will have to submit this letter of approval along with the Visa stamping fees to collect your Visa on Arrival document.
