The procedure of applying for Visa through the embassy is quite simple. You can contact the embassy officials who will take you through a step by step procedure and guide in the filling up of required forms, submission of required documents and payment of mandatory fees. In order to apply for Visa through the embassy, you must hold a valid and original Kazakhstan passport with a validity of six months. You will be asked to fill up the Visa application form in English and mention the place of submission and collection of Visa as Vietnam. Along with the duly filled form, you will be asked to submit one recent passport sized photograph, a self-addressed envelope and your original passport.
The embassy will require at least five working days to process your documents. Once the documents are processed, you will be issued a fully stamped Visa. Besides submitting the documents, you will be required to submit the Visa fees. These fees can be paid to the Embassy of Vietnam by way of money order or cashier’s cheque.
This procedure is convenient for those who live close to the embassy location. However, if you reside in a far flung area, it wouldn’t be possible for you to travel up and down to the embassy location several times. Also, there are other shortcomings of applying for Visa to Vietnam through the embassy. The embassy takes a longer time to process your documents. Also, your original passport will be forwarded ahead by the embassy for processing purposes. There are good chances that you lose your documents through this method.
The ideal choice for those who do not wish to go through the embassy for Visa application process is the Visa on Arrival facility. In order to apply for Visa on Arrival, you can get in touch with a travel agent based in Vietnam. You will have to fill the Visa application process online and submit it for processing. Once the form is processed, you will be issued a letter of approval. While filling up the form, you will have to fill in details such as the purpose of your visit. You can choose from options such as business, tourist and transit.
A business Visa comes with a validity of one month, three months and six months. Tourist Visa comes with a validity of one month and transit Visa comes with a validity of six months. Make sure you choose the correct option as Vietnamese Immigration authorities are particular about the details.
On landing in Vietnam, you can submit the letter of approval at the Visa on Arrival counter of the airport you arrive in along with the Visa stamping fees to collect your Visa on Arrival document.
