One of the two ways in which an Indonesian citizen can apply for Visa is through the Embassy of Vietnam located in Indonesia. He can get in touch with the officials at the Embassy who can help him with the necessary document submission and payment of required fees. For an individual to apply through the embassy, he must hold a valid Indonesian passport with six months validity, recent passport size photographs and a self-addressed envelope. While filling up the form, it is important that he mentions the place of submission and collection of the Visa as Vietnam. If he has already got the approval letter, he can mention the reference number on top of the form. After the form is filled out, the recent passport size photographs need to be affixed on it. These documents will then be submitted along with the passport and the Visa will be sent to the address on the self-addressed envelope via postal mail.
Besides filling up the form and submitting the required documents, it is important that the person deposits the Visa fees at the embassy. The fees can be deposited by money order or by Cashier’s cheque addressed to the Embassy of Vietnam. For information on additional fees, you can get in touch with the officials at the embassy on mail or through telephone.
Another way of applying for Visa is through a travel agent, who will help you fill up on online form for Visa on Arrival. It is important that you mention the purpose of your visit and the kind of visa you require in the form. There are three options under the purpose of visit – business, tourist and transit. A business visa comes with validity of one month, three months and six months. A tourist visa has a validity of only one month and transit visa has a validity of less than 5 days.
It is also important that you mention the kind of visa you require – single or multiple entry. Usually the visa issued by the Embassy of Vietnam is for single entry, but you can apply for multiple entry Visa by mentioning it in your application form and paying additional fees.
Carrying all the necessary documents is absolutely essential. Lack of the necessary documents or any discrepancy in the documents can lead to denial in entry into Vietnam and immediate deportation. With the help of a reliable travel agent, you can rest assured that you will not have to face such issues while travelling.
The Visa on Arrival facility is offered to only those travellers who arrive in Vietnam by air. For those taking land routes, it is mandatory that they carry their Visa and passport along with them.
