Built in the end of the 19th century, 87 Ma May house is possibly the most noteworthy antique house still standing in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. It was initially settled by only one family when it was formed. However, there were up to 5 families living in this house. Recently restored to its original turn-of-the-century condition, it is decorated with period furniture, including an ornate bed, cupboards, an altar and a screen. The largest room in the house is used to hold talks, seminars and professional exchanges on issues relating to Hà Nội and the Old Quarter. This house is presently served as a venue where the traditional performances are played and historical things are displayed. {itpsharepoint}
