Different types of visas
Generally, different types of Visas are available for Australian citizens to enter Vietnam which vary according to the purpose of visit. Some of the distinctive types of Visa which are available for the citizens of Australia include:
• Tourist Visa: The tourist visa is particularly meant for those people who are visiting Vietnam for a family tour purpose. It is the most common type of visa among people which possess a maximum validity of 15 to 30 days. There are also provisions available to extend this validity in Vietnam in order to extend the stay.
• Business visa: The business visa is quite similar to that of a tourist visa in terms of validity. It is particularly meant for those Australian citizens who are traveling to Vietnam for business purpose. They are also required to present a letter of sponsorship issued by the Vietnamese company.
• Transit visa: Transit Visa is generally meant for those citizens who are required to stay within the precincts of the airport. The Australian citizens who are staying the airport premises for a while do not require any kind of transit visa to stay at Vietnam international airports.
• Education Visa: This type of special visa is meant for those aspiring students who are interested in pursuing higher education from Vietnam. This type of visa requires a valid consent of the college from where the student is going to pursue his further studies in Vietnam.
Mandatory Requirements
Some of the essential mandatory requirements to obtain Vietnam visa for Australian citizens include:
• A valid passport of 6 months for obtaining Visa offline.
• A valid passport of 30 days for obtaining Visa online.
• Two photographs (passport size) of the applicant, preferably of the size 4X6 cm.
• Approval letter issued by the immigration department of Vietnam for online application.
• Payment of stamping as well as service fees.
Airport procedure
The citizens of Australia who have applied for Vietnam Visa online through travel agencies are required to fulfill following procedure while arriving at any of the airports of Vietnam:
• Show up the valid passport, photograph as well as approval letter to the airport authorities if applying online.
• Get the passport stamped by the immigration department of Airport.
• Directly show up the stamped visa on the passport if applied through embassy.
